Wall-hung or floor-standing vanity in a small bathroom
The vanity is the furniture of the room. In a terrace it is also the storage, the splash zone and the thing the door must miss. Hung or standing is a structural question pretending to be a style question.
Wall-hung
Best when the wall is solid or has been reinforced, the basin is not enormous, and you want the floor clear. Pipework is boxed or chased with intent. A pretty floating unit on a hollow wall is a callback waiting to happen.
Floor-standing
Best when you want drawers, a softer fixing, and a unit that can hide the wastes. It uses floor space you can see. In a very small room, a 500mm floor-standing unit often beats a 600mm floating one that collides with the shower screen.

Quick answers
Does a wall-hung vanity make the room bigger?+
It shows more floor, so the room reads as larger. The basin is still the same size. Do not expect it to create storage you did not buy.
Can any wall take a floating unit?+
No. Dot-and-dab plasterboard with nothing behind it is a poor home for a stone basin full of water. We check the wall, and ProCore18™ is there when the wall needs to become dependable.
Which is easier to clean?+
Wall-hung, because you can mop underneath. Floor-standing, because pipes are inside a cabinet rather than on show. Pick your annoyance.
