Bathroom guarantees: what the years should actually cover
Guarantees are easy to print and awkward to claim. The useful version names the company, the address, the years, and whether both workmanship and materials are included.

- —How many years, and from which date
- —Whether silicone is treated as a maintainer item
- —What voids it — alterations, missed cleaning, third-party trades
- —Who holds the guarantee if you sell the house
Years are not the whole story
Ten years from a company that will still answer the phone is better than twenty-five years from a name you cannot trace. We are at The Landmark, School Lane, Burnley. The edition you buy sets the term: 5, 7 or 10 years.

Studio panelled work is a 5-year workmanship and materials guarantee. Signature is 7 years. Bespoke panelled and our top tiled specifications carry a 10-year workmanship and materials guarantee. The quote states which edition you are buying.
Does a guarantee cover leaks from movement in the house?+
A guarantee covers the installation and the materials as described. It does not cover damage you cause, or a building leak from outside the bathroom. Ask what is excluded and get that in writing.
Who do I call in year six?+
The company named on the guarantee, at an address you can still find. A local firm with a studio in Burnley is a practical answer. A mobile number on a flyer is not.
